About Us

The HappinessApp is developed and operated by:

Saat Network GmbH
Bahnhofstrasse 21

Switzerland

In this text, “our” and similar pronouns refers to Saat Network GmbH. “You” and similar pronouns refers to users and customers of the Happiness-App.

Background

“I want people who use the Happiness-App to be happy they did so.” – Peter Stevens, Inventor of the Happiness-App

The purpose of the Happiness-App is to enable people share information about their feelings with whomever they want. It should be simple to use, meaningful and empowering. It should be an app that its users can trust. It should respect a user’s need for privacy and leave the user in control of how their data is used.

Our first discussions with potential users revealed how important privacy concerns can be. The level of trust varies tremendously between individuals and organizations, especially between people and their employers. The Happiness-App strives to reflect these concerns, both in the services it offers and how it relates to its users and customers. It does this primarily by putting the access to the data in control of the user.

What we don’t do

What the Happiness-App is not is as important as what it is.

It is not an advertising platform nor is it Big Brother. Although basic services will be free (and may be ad supported), we expect the primary business model to be fee for service, not advertising supported. We will not sell or transfer personally identifiable data to any third parties such as spammers or marketing companies. We will not transform your statements into something they are not, e.g. transforming a “Like” into a paid advertisement.

What data do we collect?

We collect data to identify you to the system. We store the numeric representation of your happiness level and the journal entries you make.

What permissions do you grant us?

The data you enter remains your property. You grant us the right to store your data, to forward your data on your request, and to make non-personally identifiable copies of your data for our use, e.g. for aggregation and statistical purposes.

How do we use the data you enter?

We will save your data for your future reference (e.g. if you lose your device or wish to access your data from the web or another device, this should be possible).

On your request we will forward your data to share with other people or services you specify. Such sharing includes forwarding tweets to Twitter or sharing your current status with other HappinessApp users. Such data may be personally identifiable.

We intend to create interesting statistics and mashups based on the data you enter.

We will create services to enable interested people to share data with each other. Some of these services may only be available when paying a fee.

Can you delete your data?

Yes. On request we will delete all your personally identifiable data. (This function is not yet implemented, please contact us if you wish to have you account deleted before the function is available).

What is our position on privacy?

We believe strongly in Internet Privacy. It is our intention to qualify for a 4 star privacy rating from the EFF (link: https://www.eff.org/pages/who-has-your-back ).

Will the privacy policy change in the future?

Almost certainly! This edition is our first attempt at the privacy policy and will evolve as we get feedback. If you have questions, comments or concerns please send an email to privacy(at)HappinessApp.me.
